Adobe Firefly Brings Generative AI to Creative Professionals
Adobe has been at the forefront of delivering AI-powered features to video and audio professionals worldwide. Now, Adobe is ushering in a new era of creativity with generative AI that will allow a natural conversation between creators and computers. Adobe is now introducing Adobe Firefly powered by generative AI, which means that it uses complex algorithms to generate new content.
Adobe Firefly is a creative co-pilot that supercharges the discovery and ideation processes, cutting down post-production time from days to minutes. Generative AI is integrated directly into workflows, enabling creators to change the time of day of a video, automatically annotate and find relevant b-roll, or create limitless variations of clips.
Adobe Sensei, their AI and machine learning framework, has been delivering AI-driven features for over a decade. Auto Reframe and Remix in Premiere Pro and Content Aware Fill for Video in After Effects are some of the features that have helped professionals worldwide create stunning content with ease.
With the advent of generative AI, creators can now have a natural conversation with their computer, where simple gestures and typing can combine with professional creative application workflows to enable new creative expression. Short-form videos are ubiquitous in news, social media, and entertainment, and the demand for high-quality creative work is growing exponentially. To address this challenge, Adobe is excited to innovate with the video and audio community to make it easier and faster to transform visions into reality.
Adobe is exploring a range of concepts for Firefly, including text-to-color enhancements, advanced music and sound effects, stunning fonts, text effects, graphics, and logos, and powerful script and B-roll capabilities.
Another exciting aspect of Firefly is its potential for enhancing collaboration between creatives. With its natural language processing capabilities, Firefly can interpret and respond to user input in real-time, providing suggestions and feedback as the user works. This means that multiple users can work on the same project simultaneously, with Firefly acting as a sort of virtual assistant, helping to keep everyone on the same page.
Adobe Firefly is the next major evolution of AI-driven creativity and productivity. Firefly is a family of creative generative AI models, starting with image generation and text effects. The first model is trained on Adobe Stock images, openly licensed content, and public domain content where copyright has expired. It is designed to generate content safe for commercial use. Firefly is available in beta, and Adobe has shared concepts for how it could be integrated into Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and other Adobe applications in the near future.
Adobe is expanding the vision for Firefly to imagine ways they can bring generative AI into Adobe’s video, audio, animation, and motion graphics design apps. With personalized generative AI-powered “how-tos,” users can master new skills and accelerate processes from initial vision to creation and editing.
Starting later this year, Adobe will begin introducing new generative AI features for video, audio, animation, and motion graphics design. Users can sign up for the beta of Firefly and join the conversation on Discord. On Thursday, April 20, Adobe will also host a community live session on YouTube.
